Barbara K. Doolittle joined Paine Bickers in 2017 when she moved with her family to Knoxville from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She bought her extensive trial experience to the firm, having served for eight years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Her prosecutions focused on violent and complex criminal activity and earned her an Outstanding Prosecutor Award from the Pennsylvania Narcotic Officers’ Association for her role in a multi-agency investigation that brought down a notorious drug kingpin and more than forty of his co-conspirators, dismantling their distribution network.

In 2001, Barbara graduated with honors from Brown University. After working at the United States Senate for two years, she matriculated to Boston College Law School where she earned a spot on the school’s National Mock Trial Team and received her Juris Doctorate in 2006. She began her law practice as an Assistant Public Defender in Pittsburgh, PA, before joining the Office of the United States Attorney there.

Barbara is admitted to practice in Tennessee and Pennsylvania and is a member of the Tennessee and Knoxville bar associations, as well as the East Tennessee Lawyer’s Association for Women (ETLAW).

Barbara, her husband, and their two children enjoy exploring their new environs in Eastern Tennessee.
